Patient Panel

Patient Involvement in the Surgery

At Deddington we have an active Patient Participation Group (PPG) which meets quarterly at the Health Centre, where we discuss a variety of topics including:

  • Issues concerning the surgery
  • Health care issues proposed by the PPG
  • Oxfordshire and national health developments.
The demographics of our Patient Participation Group are:

Our PPG has 25 members.
Age range 43 - 88
Age 18 - 65 20%; age 66 and over 80%
Males 52%; Females 48%

This group reflects that we have an increased incidence of people over 65 years of age in our practice population as compared to the rest of Oxfordshire and nationally. The group includes carers, disabled users, those with various long term conditions, people who are retired and people who work/have worked in health care.

For those who are not keen on attending meetings, we also have a Patient Panel (PP) which is a group of patients with whom exchange of ideas and discussion takes place by email.

The demographics of our Patient Panel is:

Our online Patient Panel currently has a membership of 24 people.
Age range 28 - 80 years
Age 18 - 65 63%; age 66 and over 37%
Males 46%; Females 54%

The group reflects our practice population in that it includes carers, disabled users, those with long term conditions including diabetes and asthma, illnesses affecting the elderly, unemployed and those for whom English is not their first language.

Would you like to become involved in making decisions that affect the range and quality of services provided by the Practice? This is an opportunity for you to directly influence the way in which the Practice offers health care to its patients. If you are interested in either attending our quarterly meetings or being a part of our Patient Panel by email then please contact our Practice Manager, Sue Johnson at sue.johnson23@nhs.net.
