New legislation, which took effect from April 1st 2013, requires all GP surgeries to be registered with the CQC. The CQC then has the responsibility for monitoring these providers to ensure that the service they are providing is:-
- Well led
- Responsive to people’s needs
Their aim is to raise standards and put people first. They monitor, inspect and regulate the services provided in Primary Care to make sure they meet fundamental standards of quality and safety.
