Booking a Doctor’s Appointment
Appointments for a consultation with a GP can be made online, in person, or by telephone on 01869 338611. The receptionist will always try to give you an appointment on the day of your choice with the doctor of your choice.
The doctors are also available to speak to on the phone. To speak to a GP please phone Reception before 11am in order to book a telephone consultation. There is limited availability so we cannot guarantee this will be a same day call. We also have an on-call GP who deals with urgent phone calls.
You can book appointments and request your repeat prescriptions via our online services.
Each day one of our GPs is on call with no pre-booked appointments. Therefore any patient who needs to see a doctor urgently can do so on the same day, but not necessarily with the doctor of their choice.
Please do not request an urgent appointment for a minor or long standing problem.
The doctors are also available to speak to on the phone. To speak to your GP please phone Reception before 11am in order to leave a message on their voicemail. You will only be able to leave a voicemail message if the doctor is in surgery that morning so the doctor will phone you back at the end of their morning surgery. We also have an on-call GP who deals with all urgent phone calls and all phone call requests after 11am.
In an emergency situation we advise you to contact 999. If you need to speak to someone urgently but the situation is not a 999 emergency the NHS 111 service is also available.
Booking a Practice Nurse Appointment
To book a blood test or an appointment with the nurse please phone Reception on 01869 338611. If you call please be prepared to give the receptionist an idea of what the appointment is for so that the correct amount of time can be allocated for the appointment.
If you wish to speak to a nurse on the phone please inform the receptionist and the nurse will phone you back as soon as she is free.
Availability of Doctors
Knowing when your GP is available is a very useful thing as it allows you to organise which time is best suited for you without having to rearrange your day too much. We have therefore provided this information here for all patients to see:
To find out how to book an appointment at the surgery please see the “How to make an appointment” page or call our Surgery directly.
